Affiliate marketing is a tough market to be in, or at least that’s what most internet marketers will tell you. I’m going to disagree with that. Yes, the competition is terrific, there are a bunch of more or less same products you can promote, there are already a bunch of different already established sites that promote what you want to promote, there are search engines that are always unpredictable, there are paid traffic methods that won’t convert, there is enough laziness in us all that will make any market a tough one.
I also hear some “build and they will come”, “work will get you there”, “don’t just sit on your ass in front of the computer and wait for sales to come in”. Well, the last one is a perfect fit for me for the last couple months. Yes, I’m ashamed I have to admit it. I promise it won’t happen again… bla bla bla. I do have an excuse though: I met the girl of my dreams. No, I won’t get into details but congrats are in order
Anyway, back to the point… I have to admit Jan and Feb were my best months ever, not only because of the reason stated above but also because of the earnings. These two months are my top earners so far and trust me, I’ve been at this for quite some years. I hate loosing my time making predictions but I’ll tell you this: if next months are going to be as good as the years’ start I’ll only be around for fun.
What was it that I did so right you might ask. Well, I asked myself the same question. While the answer still eludes me, I have a pretty good idea where my commissions are coming from: my autoblogs.
I’m the first one to admit that this is weird. If you already went through my previous posts, you’ll know I’m using my autoblogs to mainly drive traffic to my main, hand written blogs. Sure, I still have affiliate offers on all of my autoblogs but these were put up there for the “hit or miss” kind of people that are too lazy to click through to my main blogs.
Taking a deeper look into my autoblogs I’ve seen search engines traffic went up on most of my autoblogs so I can only say big old Google doesn’t hate autoblogs, neither is Bing or Yahoo. I already told you my little secret behind all my autoblogs: I’m also posting hand written posts onto them every once in a while. Such posts are rare but (I’d say) essential. So do it on all your autoblogs and watch for the results.
One other thing I do is not posting more then one post per day per blog. The plugin I’m using – Multipress Lite – is allowing me to set up the frequency so I played with it at the beginning and noticed too much content will actually hurt your blog. Okay, you may call me crazy but that’s the truth.
Well, this about sums it up for the day so keep the above in mind when working on your auto blogs. If you need a cool little plugin that is free to use, get Multipress Lite and give it a try.
Also, I recently found this and gave it a read. If you’re new to autoblogging, you may want to read it out, it’s a little, free tutorial on how to get started with autoblogging: Autoblogging tutorial.
Spot on Lisa, thanks, looking forward to more comments from you
